Topliff

Topliff was instituted around 1875 as a quarry for lime rock which was used by local smelters. The crushed limestone from the quarry was hauled out by rail, one trainload a day. The quarry was shut down in 1937 and all of the homes and the rail line were removed.

These Photos were taken in June of 2005. There is not much left of the town of Topliff now, but the old quarry is active again and posted "No Trespassing".
